{First Scrap Class}

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from my very first scrap-class. I wasn't a fan of "cartoon" stickers and that's what this class offers. But what I was intersted was to get my hands on some misting.

After the class, I must say I totally enjoyed it. And Yin is good. She made me realise that kiddy stuff can look nice with adult pix too hahaha... I really couldn' have realised that on my own.

She taught us how to make our very own button acorns. Ok, so everyone concluded that I can't sew. Even just sewing a criss-cross on the button ended me with shaky hands. You see, since young, each time when I try to do detailed work, my hands start shaking. Not sure why, it just happens. And yes, it happened again, lol. No more sewing for me. Does anyone know if they have those staple machines where u just staple the buttons on. I love the sewn on effect, it's just too much for shaky hands me hahaha.. Yin had to sew for me hahahaha...OK i did attempt to make one acorn :)

Love it that she took us through simple steps on how to make our own embelishments. Very creative!

I loved the way she took us through the layouts. She was extremely patient (with me... slowest in class hahaha) and very clear with her instructions. All materials are provided except to bring our own glue dots and tape. My friend and I had a really enjoyable time!

Those of you who are reading this and would like to give it a try, check out the class schedule at www.thescrapbookcarton.com

Check out the cute button acorns hanging from the bow.

I like how we tied a string onto the circle cardboard.

{2nd Mini Album} Ju Ju's Peek-a-boo!

{Friday}

This time we didn't get much, each of us only got one small item. But as always I had fun trying clothes and stuff with her. We had a really good laugh - she's so spontaneous! Looking forward to our next outing before she leaves for kawaii land...

I was suppose to help S get $20 worth of scrap materials to make an ang pow box. Me being me... exceeded her budget. Spent almostS$55. Oops. AND... I don't even know if what I bought can really be used. I find it really difficult to pick stuff out like that. I need to put them together exactly the way I'm going to make it to see the final outcome...

For those looking for a nice ang pow to start with try this little Japanese stationary shop at City Hall. Whne you enter the shop  somewhere on the top, right shelf, you will find a few boxes stacked together. Really pretty. Pearly with circle emboss throughout - looks like little pearls everywhere.

{Ps17:8}

Finally, completed my very first mini-album. Made good use of the distress ink and sandpaper block that I bought long ago and were left sitting there for almost a year :D

I love my new scrap space. Everything is within reach. Everything has its place. So thankful for it.

{Cover Title: Ps = Pslam}
I chose an apple background because this pslam talks about being the apple of God's eyes. Love the butterfly that I got recently. Kept the cover really simple.

{Inside Pages}
On the left page contains the chapter and verse of the Pslam that was carried over from the first page. 17eight (chapter 17 verse 8).

Psalm 17:8 "Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings."

{Why This Album?}
Throughout life, I've learnt many lessons. But in this little book are lessons that have impacted and changed my life significantly. Here's a little note summing up the lessons that I've learnt. Would love to make this as a "hand-me-down" to my kids and their kids and their kids kids :) {dreaming...}

{Lesson #1}
He makes all things beautiful in its time - Ecclesiastes 3:11

This was the scripture we used for our weddding ... love it. I got married pretty late, was getting anxious. But when I learnt to turn everything over to God, he made it really beautiful in His time.

Flip the photo up and you'll be able to see a word of encouragement.

{Lesson #2}
Love the Lord your God, with all our heart, and all your soul, and all strength and all your mind. Luke 10:27

This is one of the most important lesson I've learnt and I cherish it dearly! It's exactly like a Bingo game. When you get all the numbers, you just want to jump up and shout BINGO!

When I finally understood this verse from my heart - everything changed. Better than getting a BINGO win!

Printed parts of the verses onto little circles that I pasted on the BINGO page.

{Lesson #3}
Honour your father and mother. Ephesians six:two

Love and honour them not because they did something right, but simply because they are our God-given parents. When I learnt that principle and sank it into my heart, my relationship with my parents improved tremendously.

{Lesson #4}
The perfect love of Christ cast out all fear. 1 John 4:8

When fear creeps in, this is a powerful tool to drive it out! Experience the power of His Word!! Love the picture we took in Seoul. Was suppose to be a heart, but somehow our shadow turned out looking like penguines lol.

{Lesson #5}
Be angry, but sin not. Do not let the sun go down on your anger. Ephesians 4:26

This really helped me in my anger management. No matter how angry I get, I will settle that anger before sun-down. It's good for your soul. I may not succeed in every situation, but this keeps me going during tough times. Finally found an appropriate place to use the picture where we "tried-to-be-funny". One of those unsuccessful funny face pictures...

{Lesson #6}
Talk the answer, not the problem. The answer is in God's Word.

I saw this in a book and it stuck with me. Such wise advice. So often we focus on the problem and talk so much about it. If only we learn to talk the answer that is found in His Word, things will start to change. Still learning. Precious lesson.

Made a little baby blue dotted rose from a left over ribbon that I had.

{Lesson #7}
Fulfill your needs, limit the wants.

This is so for me...Lol... ok ok, I'm working on it....

Can you see my wants? Try to see it...

{Last Page}
Didn't quite know what to do with it. Just used my stamps and some stickers :) This page was OVER distressed lol.

{Album Folder}
I was at  a lost how to stick the paper onto the center portion where the ring binder is. Eventually, I stuck 3 strips of brown ribbons... oh well...it's better than leaving it cardboard grey.

{Back page}

{Side Profile}
Want to add some words on the brown ribbon. Haven't quite found the right words yet...

{First} Mini-Album Update

Starting on my first mini-album. I've procrastinated on this project since last year :)

I'm half way there. From the looks of it, I think it's going to end up looking pretty simple. As much as I love the organised clutter look, I realise, I don't really know how to clutter and layer it. hai...

Did the cover. Hated it. Ripped it apart - I'm stuck.

Since I took a break from scrapbooking last year while our room went through the renovation works, I seemed to have "lost" something when I started scrapbooking again. I can't seem to put things together lol. My scrap stuff is becoming really simple. Not sure why.

Just printed out some text. Gotta get started on it now... It's been day 3 on this project.

{Kodak Moments}

Made a lil something for my cousin. I enjoyed making this coz' it's small and quick to finish. What's the term used to describe a scrapper like me? Lazy scrapper? Lol.

To my lovely cousin...

{Joy is not in the things, it's in us}

{Facebook} Can you believe it?

I made a really simple comment on Tuesday like:

Can u believe weekend is near again! Time flies!

Didn't expect to generate such interests. Goes to show people find it hard to believe that someone can actually be enthusiastc and optimistic about a weekday lol.

{First & Last}

We saw a $15.90 ShabuShabu at Marina - Eat all you can. Exactly the same ingredients as what we had. I guess the difference was our waiter went...

"Sir, Mam, this is your shabu shabu...cabbage, chinese vegetable, shitake mushroom (ONLY ONE), golden mushroom, leek, bamboo shoots and US beef... would you like me to cook them for you?"

Of course I wanted them to cook. I was so upset when I saw the "spread". $90+++ for that?!?!?!?!?!! I could have eaten the $15.90 Eat All U Can spread that looks exactly the same. Was the beef exceptionally nice? No. It tasted normal. The beef didn't even melt in my mouth like the one we tried in Seoul... It was bland soup base with beef and vegetable.... urgh!

Appitizer: Tofu WAHHHHHH super big....

From left to right
Sweet potato - one lump
Fish row - 1 tablespoon (maybe)
Sea urchin - 1 teaspoon

Raw fish & scallop
Can't comment, didn't eat it. Allergic to raw food. M ate it all.

Pathetic overpriced steamboat

And this is even worst. $120+++ for teppanyaki... at least give us king prawns, large scallops, oysters, or something.. but no.... all we had was...
2 x old 50 cents sized scallops +
2 x  old 50 cents sized prawns +
2 x old 50 cents sized squid +
1 x $5 sized salmon

Come on!! For that price, we deserve more right?!?!?!?!

And the waiter said, "Try our fried rice, it's quite good." I was expecting like sticky Japnese rice fried with dried japanese scallops or something... No......

Ordinary tasting non-sticky rice with lots of oil and mixed vegetable..... HALO?!?!?!?

Tao gei? Not even the big nice ones. At least asparagus or something....

The beef was not bad, but not the best we've eaten - ordinary is simply not acceptable at this place...

We were really disappointed, but we finished every bit of it... cost a bomb! And it wasn't even nice.

His concluding statement to me... "Next time let me choose, don't insist. Ichiban is better." Lol.
OK point taken, lesson learnt. Ouch!

{Happy Bday M!}

Didn't get him a pressie this year. All stakes were put into a much anticipated Japanese dinner which was... (I'm sure you've read in the above post).

Wanted to make a card with an element of surprise. Found inspiration from my left over perfume box. Forms a perfect cube photo display. Used the Sassafras Robot paper which I bought long ago but never got down to using it. Gave it to him at 12.05am - I could have made it at 12am sharp, but the stickers were not properly aligned, had to redo the Happy Birthday :) Better late than never...

From his initial expression I figured he really likes it. So that makes this really, the only present he got from me... boo to me... ok, ok...

Happy Birthday
