{Happy Card}

Found these in the camera. Forgot to post them :) Love the rounded corners which were created from the crop-a-dile-corner-chomper. Vpost actually forgot my order...

{Ang Pow Box}

Hm... the pictures are very dark... think lighter tones when u view this lol :D

{Reno Updates}

We've selected the wall colors, the laminates and are due for hacking on 9 Nov. I'm excited! I'm also trusting the Lord to make sure everything matches well.

I don't quite understand how some people can visualise an entire room based on a small sample of laminate or inaccurate wall color from the book. Try as I might, I really can't see what it could look like.

It's not quite what I had in mind initially, I'm really praying that it would turn out nice, nonetheless. You know how sometimes after taking care of all the practical aspects, somehow things don't turn out like what the pictures you've kept aside from websites and magazines. Those always look good but are rarely practical - at least not tailored to meet my needs...

Oh well... decisions are made... let's just wait and see :)

There's no other choice. It has to turn out nice. I'm praying. And then I'm resting in His peace.

I like this wall color. Any idea what it would be on the ICI Dulux chart?

{Ang Pow Box 101}

Woo hoo! I made the first ang pow box ever for my cousin's upcoming wedding.

Learnt a precious and expensive lesson. Friends, don't make the same mistake I made.

I went scrap shopping specially for this box and ended up spending more than $100 on the materials. Hub said, "Huh hundred over for an ang pow box?" I smiled and said, "If you want a nice box, it's like that..."

Feeling proud and happy with  my new purchase, I started to put the box together immediately after I got home. After struggling for half an hour, I had a revelation....

Nothing works! Nothing looks complete together! Nothing fits! Aaahhhhh.....

I started digging through some existing stuff that I had not packed away and wala! I was pretty pleased with what was put together. I only used 1 butterfly and 1 piece of ribbon which I bought from the ang pow box scrap shopping. All other stuff were from my existing stash. Felt so silly. At the end of it, I used only about $20 worth of materials.

I hadn't had a chance to take a picture of it, hope to do so over the weekend.

Ang Pow box 101 - Make use of what you already have, no special materials required.

{Finally...}

  1. Ate one of my fav. Hakka Abacus Seed (Suan Pan Zi) and Hakka Mushroom Dumpling from Shunfu market - Absolutely delicious!
  2. Bought a white down jacket for December's Seoul Winter trip.
  3. .............................................................................................. Oh did I mention, it's less 20% :P
  4. Bought 2 sets of the most xpensive long johns we've ever had. It's ridiculous, but it's suppose to keep us warm... Cashmere/Wool... Oh well, we'll see.
  5. Ate at Ah Yat Tian Xia  @ Orchard Central (Ah Yat made affordable). Instead of having an ordinary chicken cutlet ramen, they offer to you chicken cutlet ramen with one abalone. Instead of an ordinary plate of fried rice, they offer to you fried rice with one abalone. It's about 4cm in length. Instead of having an ordinary mango with sago dessert, they offer to you mango with sago and birds' nest. Both of us spent abt $50 there... don't think I'll go again. :)

{Smart Ideas}

This is such a brilliant and beautiful inspiration.

{The Start of Something New}

We started packing today... so much more to go. We spent one whole day and we only packed one room. Half the hall is filled with boxes and bags. Right now, our hall looks like a garang-guni's house :)

We have to pack the entire second level by early Nov. All the furniture will be shifted downstairs so that the flooring people could come and sprinkle magic powder to make the floor looks new again. Weekdays are almost impossible to do any packing, that leaves us with just 3-4 days over the weekends.

There after, the painters would come, the carpenters and then...

It's back to packing stuff back in again...

No more scrap stuff for the next month or so. Everything will be packed into boxes...

Despite all these, I am looking forward to a newly renovated room and more space in the other rooms for storage :) Yeah! I'm starting with a scrap table. The next time we undergo another renovation, I'm aiming for a scrap room lol... Wonder when.

{Praise God for AGMs!}

It feels fantabulous to be able to just sit in the comfort of my bed and blog this afternoon. I wish they had more AGMs where staff gets excused.

Rest. Rest. I need to rest.

ZZZzzzzz...

{Just 4 Fun}

I googled 'vintage inspirations'. These are my top 10 picks :)

{20 Things To Do}

Not in any particular order:
  1. Devote quality time for QT.
  2. Take action and not remain laid back in areas where work needs to be done.
  3. Get an address book & update contacts. Mobile phones don't work for me.
  4. Get started on a mini-album.
  5. Quickly make a decision on renovation works.
  6. Take up a pop-piano class.
  7. Buy a new keyboard. Don't need it, just want it.
  8. Scrap more frequently.
  9. Keep in touch with friends more frequently.
  10. Find out what exactly is my scrap style.
  11. Sky-dive once in my life.
  12. Get my winter outfit ready for Seoul!
  13. Teach somebody something, but I'm not sure what. lol.
  14. Write a book.
  15. Watch an orchestra.
  16. Enjoy a meal with a live band.
  17. Spend more time with parents.
  18. Be a mummy.
  19. Get a dedicated craft space/prayer space, then upgrade to a craft room/ prayer room some time...
  20. Redo our wardrobe, then someday, to actually own a walk-in wardrobe :)
I have to fit this in... start exercising :P

{Beautiful Friday with a Beautiful Friend}

Finally met up with Y on Friday. It has been a while since we last met to just hang out, talk, talk and... talk :)

Each time I visit her, I'm always amazed at the amount of scrap stuff she has at home - it's like a mini scrap shop. It's pretty amazing. Learnt some misting techniques and got some inspirations from her. She's my scrap-guru friend :D In the midst of our conversation I learnt that we have to wash the sponge tip of the bottle of paint that we bought... oops. I saw how hers had dried up, I think that's going to happen to mine.

I had fun and totally enjoyed last Friday. Kay was adorable. He imitated words that he picked up from us when we were talking, he's at such an adorable age!

To a sweet-spirited friend and a dedicated mum... may your days be filled with peace, assurance and more love! You are a blessing to many!

Hey, we didn't take the photo that we wanted to. I think the last photo we took together was at your wedding :) Till we meet again... His angels are watching over you and your family, always!

{Keep it Simple}

In Sept, we attended the most enchanting and beautiful Singaporean-Norwegian wedding of Mel & Kris. The bride & groom were gorgeous, decorations were beautifully set up, band was fun, atmosphere was great, guests were participative! It was... enchanting!

This was indeed the most memorable wedding I've been.

I've been inspired by layouts that are simple and don't use much embelishments. Today, I made an effort to give it a try.

I must say, it wasn't as easy as it looks. Before I started, I thought it would be a easy to add a few pieces of paper together. Truth is, I did have difficulty trying to cut everything to the precise size. It was also a real struggle when it came to paper and emblishment selection because I deliberately wanted to keep it "plain".

So here you go, my first attempt to advocate that layouts need not be flooded with embelishments.

{Time Flies}

Past Few Weeks Have Been ...
Hectic. Wooh... haven't been blogging, haven't been scrapping, haven't been doing anything except stare at our room and think how we should solve the problems that keep cropping up each time we make a decision. We are almost 80% there. I'm exciting and praying that the 20% will be resolved by this coming week. Then we can proceed with the actual production.

There's weddings coming up every month. Lesson learnt, if we're going for a weekday wedding, take half a day the next day. Attended a wedding on a week night last week, gosh, Friday I was like a zombie... struggling to stay awake and think... my body was just... asleep... :D

Till next time....
