{A Day To Remember}

I have been wanting to scrap this for the longest time. Finally!

This year's birthday was a indeed a day to remember. Nothing spectacular, but I was really happy. Made use of the scrap pieces received from my presents and things I did on that special day...

Share my joy with me:
{Happy Birthday}
At a glance, I watched a musical, enjoyed 2 cakes, received 2 bouquet of flowers, shopped at Esprit and had a delicious home-cooked meal with my fav. ice-cream at home.

Recently, I bought a whole set of Martha Stewart glitter & didn't quite know what to do with it. Decided to test it out. I must say I'm pretty happy with the blue glitter on the Happy Birthday sign. I also decided to give a try to just tear the page and create a burnt effect. Not to bad for starters.

I found a pocket from the Madeline series from K & Co. Just what I needed to store the 2 floral delivery orders. It's been YEARS since I last receive 2 bouquet on the same day... a day to remember indeed. :D

Sing Dollar was hilarious. M & I enjoyed oursleves. Fantastic present. No surprise, but I loved it! Clothe tags from my shopping spree at Esprit came in handy.

Check out the stiches...just kidding. I can' stitch for nuts. Those are hand-drawn :) I cheated. so what! lol. On my birthday, I set up this blog, I thought it would be memorable to include that in this piece of lo.

There you go. A simple birthday that completely made my day!

{Everyone has a first time}

The day I did my very first lo, Yin was with me. I looked at everything available at MWL and I didn't know where to start. Everything looked so beautiful. They were all calling out to me "pick me, pick me..." I felt so blessed that I had Yin around. We headed to her home to get my hands on my very first scrapbook attempt. It's reassuring to have her sitting beside me to help with the layout, selection and many wonderful suggestions. It was like having a one-to-one scrap class :) I had so much fun that day.

Nic came over last week and yesterday to get her hands on her very first scrapbook attempt. You know what's best? She lives in Australia! So many scrap stuff over there!!!

Last week we started with a simple birthday card. This week, we progressed to my fav - shadow boxes (woo hoo! upgraded from the use of "frames", which sounds absolutely ordinary, to "shadow boxes". Even though it means the same thing, it sounds so much more nicer lol.)

Here's some pix of what we did together... I really hope she is able to pick up this hobby and have fun with it :D

{ScrapTerms}

I'm so lost with all the scrap terms.

Shadow boxes... I call them frames.

Kraft paper.... I call them brown paper, then I thought they were crate paper lol

Embelishments... I call them stickers, buttons & rub-ons

Cardstock... I call them hard color paper (lol...)

I'm learning something new everyday :)

{Forward to Sept 12}

Dearest Pal,
You are creative, organised, generous, thoughtful, sweet, genuine, lovely, kind, beautiful, gracious, faithful, filial, compassionate, honest and much more! Thank you for being such a sweet pal all these years!
May your days be filled with smiles, love, peace & joy!
Happy Birthday!

{Beautiful Soulmates}

{two plus one} Family
When she saw this she asked, what if there's another one
(is that a hint that more is on the way?)

{Look at me}
Kay's not well today when I visited Y. But when he saw this, smiled and said "K" it made me smile. Then the TV stole his attention away very quickly lol. Wishing you speedy recovery!

{Svendson Frames}

Mel's wedding over the weekend was the most beautiful wedding I've been in this life time. The ambience was perfect. Food was delicious. Band was good. The wedding planners decorated the place beautifully. It was an "ang mor" wedding with western food, buffet dessert and dance. Lovely! The speeches at the wedding were really touching too. Some of the family members even wrote songs and everyone joined in to sing. It was something very different from the Chinese wedding. I really love it!

Made some frames for Mel's wedding. The photo of the frame didn't quite turn out as expected. Thank goodness I took a picture of it before inserting into the frame. Here it is.

This is for them to insert a picture from the wedding.

These are two smaller complimentary frames of their childhood pix.

{What do you see?}

{A weed is but an unloved flower}
A challenge is but an untapped opportunity for growth.

What do you see?
A weed or a flower?
A challenge or an opportunity?

"Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

{True Love} You Make Me Happy

What a beautiful family!

{BzBee}

Finally get a chance to blog. Have not been able to do any scrapbooking recently. Work is piling. Looking ahead, I'm gearing up for a rush!

On the brighter side, I bought a super duper bulky ring yesterday! Woo hoo!

Got to start looking for an evening dress. So many weddings to attend this second half of the year almost one each month. Took a look at the dresses I have... ah... I can't fit into them! Urgh!
